German WW2 Spanish Honor Cross for the Next of Kin

This item depicted in the images is a rare German WW2 Spanish Cross in Bronze for the Next of Kin of “Legion Condor” soldiers. 

This cross is a smaller version of the Spanish Cross itself. The Next of Kin of soldiers who died in the Spanish Campaign. This award was issued to members of the “Condor Legion”. 

The Condor division was a German unit that half- secretly fought in the Spanish Civil War between 1936-1940. The Legion Condor tested many of the weapons later on used in the Blitzkrieg campaigns between 1939-1941.  

A TOTAL of 315 Honor Crosses were awarded. 

Reference: Detlev Niemann in “Price Guide. Orders and decorations Germany” 2004, page 457 put 2000 EURO ( $2550 – 13 years ago !!) for that nice badge.
