Extremely rare German WW2 U-boat Submarine Kill Flag U-57, 5000 tons + owner’s ID

German WWII U-boat U-57 Kill Flag, 5000 tons. The commander of u-boat in 1940 was Erich Topp – look at the last image. The flag is measures 9” tall (plus the ties) by 12” wide.

When the U-Boats returned to port, they’d fly their kill flag to show their successful mission and the top/bottom ends of the flag have roped eyelets (lanyards) so they could do just that, proudly fly it from the mast.
