Rare Silver Judaica Russian Groger from 1894, marked
For your consideration is the rare Silver Judaica Russian groger (gragger), decorated with figures and cabochon stones, hallmarked.
Silver Russian-made Purim “grogger”, a noisemaker used to celebrate the holiday. This finely-crafted example bears a 6″ handle with a Star of David, two cabochon stones and several Hebrew letters, and is topped with a rearing lion. The ratchet body bears a filigree design and also has two stones. Fully operable.
As you can see the figurine is very beautiful and made as a high quality jewelery.
It has FOUR marks: .84 for silver, К.П. and А.А. for masters and stamp for workshop. It is approximately 2.8 troy oz, 7 1/2″ long.
